World’s First Thermal Action Camera

The Flir Duo R Thermal is the world’s first thermal dual-sensor action camera that is specially developed for adding thermal imaging to drones. Many have been utilizing much larger thermal cameras for performing thermal aerial surveys, such as for detecting home roof insulation leaks, construction site mapping, and more. With the FLIR Duo’s compact and lightweight action camera size and weight of just 84 grams, it is mountable on virtually any drone rig or gimbal and is currently the most convenient thermal camera for use in industrial applications, aerial surveys, and even personal use.


Infrared Imagery and On-Board Color Video Recording

While its sibling, the Flir Duo R Thermal, offers more precision and full radiometric capabilities for professionals, the Duo is good for those who want the same impressive thermal imagery in a small dual-sensor camera for a more affordable price. The Duo offers onboard recording of digital 160×120 resolution infrared imagery aside from 1080p color video and stills at a 90-degree field of view, and can even be used with your smartphone.


Easy Remote Camera Control and In-Flight Image Enhancement

One of the key features of the FLIR Duo is that you can control up to two camera functions remotely and in real-time, over Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), and configure recording and control settings using the FLIR app. Camera functions with PWM inputs include starting and stopping of recording, selection of color palette imagery, and switching between video streaming options (visible, thermal, PIP, MSX).

Users can use the versatile picture-in-picture (PIP) mode to perform two activities at the same time, such as watching footage in a pinned window in one corner of the screen while configuring settings. They can also access the powerful MSX® Blending feature, which allows you to combine two images together for image enhancement and improved visibility using the FLIR Tools software package, all during in-flight recording.


Flexible Live Video Output

The Flir Duo R Thermal makes it easy to record and save videos onto a microSD memory card. Users can export analog videos via its 10-pin mini-USB connector, as well as digital videos via its micro-HDMI connector. It also has a wide 5-26 VDC input voltage supply for better, faster, and safer integration to onboard systems.
